WightExplorer is a new Island-built app aiming to become the go-to place for discovering what's happening across the Isle of Wight, bringing events of all shapes and sizes together in one place. From major festivals, live music and comedy to family days out, theatre, community events, markets and car boot sales, we want to make discovering things to do on the Island far easier for residents and visitors alike.
Rather than searching across multiple websites, social media pages and event listings, users can open WightExplorer and see what's happening across the Island in one place. The free app allows you to search and browse events by category, discover what's happening on particular dates, save events to build your own personalised schedule, and get reminders through push notifications.
Our ambition is to build WightExplorer into the first place people turn when looking for something to do on the Isle of Wight, whether that's planning a weekend in advance or simply wondering what's happening today. We also believe the platform can provide a valuable new way for Island event organisers, venues, attractions and businesses to reach people who are actively looking for things to do.
WightExplorer has been created by Islanders Shane Smith, Fiona Jeffery and Matt Jeffery, combining their experience in business, technology and digital development to tackle a familiar problem: finding out what is actually happening on the Island. The idea has been developed by Shane alongside Fiona and Matt of award-winning Isle of Wight design and development agency Brightbulb, with the trio establishing WightExplorer as a new Island startup.
WightExplorer is available free to download on the App Store and Google Play. Tap the button below to get started.
